have you cleaned the throttle body too? thats usually part of my tune ups. but like said our rigs are heavy... almost 5000 pounds if i remember correctly. our rigs have a frame. if im not mistaken your jeep will have a unibody making it lighter than a durango. tire size will also play a part in this as well.

I know mine weighs more than 5000, its closer to 5500. According to the scale at the local landfill that is.

Yeah, I read somewhere 4060 pounds, also. My 'burban is 4600 and has 110 less horsepower.

Replace the transmission filter, adjust the bands, and fill with ATF+4 fluid only. Do not power flush it!!!!!

Thanks everybody for the help. Cleaning TB and trans service are at top of list.
Recommendations for a HD tourq converter? What is a "deathflash" and how does one find it?

The "deathflash" is a update from the dealer that they flash into the PCM to offset a plenum gasket leak failure. It was a cheap fix to a bad design. This will only affect the 5.9L and 5.2L engine. If you have this flash a update sticker will be placed on the PCM or under the hood on the front clip.

Hughes makes a good convertor.
