5.9 wont stay running at start-up
New to this forum and looking forward to it. Problem I am having is I have a very well maintained 2001 Durango with the 5.9 and 241,000 original miles. Gotta love a Dodge . She was running perfect yesterday then this morning I went to start her up and she ran for a second or two then shut-off. Then again and again. I then got in and tried to give it gas and got it to around 1800 rpm then it stalled. Did that a couple of times. She has about 3/4 tank after a fill up so the gas is good or should be. Any hepl is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

+1 exactly adukart.
A) Just because you have a new battery doesn't mean it is a good battery under load
B) If the battery is the likely culprit... and you "just put a brand new battery on a month ago"... and you are certain the battery is good, solution 1B instead of solution 1A is to check the connections since they were just loosened a month ago.
It isn't a coincidence that the battery is the likely culprit and you just happened to be dealing with it last month.

I really appreciate the comments guys. I found out what it was and I feel like that saying "you can't fix stupid" LOL This was the problem. It was around 6am grabbed my wife spare key to start the truck and guess what... it is a plain key without the chip in it. I am going to crawl back in a whole for now but you guys do rock!! Thanks again
