Default Mopar Performance?

So I talked to one of my friends grandfather and he fell in love with my D...But he said, "So its got the 360 in it? Best damn engine ever built Ill tell you what! But you should get a mopar performance intake to replace that kegger there."
So I looked it up and did alittle research...seems like it would help some.
My questions is...is it really worth the $300 that it costs?
Here is a link to it:

What would be expected as a gain with this? Just power or mpg as well?
I am just curious at this point...once winter is over I will dive into performance parts and what not!

$300? Try $450. Don't mistake the carb version for the TB version you will need.

Worth it? Yea in the end. But not necessary out of the gate. There are tons of other things you can do to improve the performance before worrying about the intake manifold.

As for the 360 being an exceptional motor, I AGREE!

Ahh...good thing to look out for I guess.
Which is better:
Buying this manifold or just modifing the Keg on there now?

Neither. Focus on other things first. The manifold is the last thing to worry about... if ever.

Go to the sticky "Do it yourself" thread on this page. Look up Exhaust, cold air intake, Kegger intake mod, suspension. tune up. Lots of proven stuff to wake up the D. New intake will be the last thing U will really want to do.
Try a tune up first if not done already. I was surprised at the improvement. May I also rec Sea Foam in gas and oil before the next oil change. there is a Sea Foam thread also to check out.

if you want some easy extra power & performance get a CAI. you can build one easy from piping from the hardware store for a few bucks

these threads all talk about how to do this and have pics:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...m-air-diy.html
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...s-mileage.html
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ir-intake.html
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...e-ram-air.html

a good old fashioned tune-up would do good too. Change the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, and clean the throttle body

This is the intake manifold you will want when it comes the time:

If you go big on the engine build get this and I'd suggest a Holley or Fastman TB with a bigger bore. My build on my durango is huge and if you want any tips I'll be more than happy to share.

Sweet guys,
yea I ran seafoam in all 3 ways, just changed the oil over to synthetic after running the seafoam for 50 or so miles. Oil wasn't to bad actually...I was very surprized!
I know the wires are newer, But when I swap the plugs I might just get new wires and a cap and call it good. But that is after I do the diffs and trans/trasfer case fluids at the start of Dec.

Thanks Whitewidow, How much power did you gain stroking your 5.9L D?
I sometimes miss my cherokee with the 4.6L stroker...
