Transmission Sensor
Soo.. Got the 2001 SLT 4.7. Ive asked this question before but felt that i didnt really get an answer.. although idk if i could even get one. Heres the issue.
No Engine Light!!! No other idiot lights what so ever!!
Transmission not shifting properly. Not shifting hard at all. Im running 2-2500 rpms at 15 mph. I let off the gas.. Goes back down to just above 1500.. then back up to 2500-3 as i accelerate again. Ive noticed some hesitating.
Speedo has sometimes been slow. I only noticed this once breaking for a car turning, that it took forever to get down from 40 to 0.
Took it to 2 shops. One says drive it till a light comes on.. been 2 weeks. Other says to park it.
Fluid is fine.. not over full.. not under. Still pink and doesnt smell.
I would love to start changing sensors. Starting with the speed sensor. But i cant find anything in my manual about them. Dont know where to find them.. how to change.. etc. Im a 20 yr old girl with no help, no money, and limited options.

Personally I would go to Rockauto if your short on cash...I saved $20 going there and I got both the trans sensor and the one for the rear diff shipped for $34.
It is really simple as well if you go to thier site, chose your rigs year and engine and go from there...if you need more help let us know.
To change the trans sensor is really easy...just unplug the wire coming out of it, unscrew the sensor from the trans and then replace in reverse order. My speedo is off by 10mph no matter what speed I am going, I have weird shifts, and the speedo is slow to respond.
Once I get them and swap them I will let you know if it fixes these problems!

The input and output sensors are on the driver side of the transmission. There is only one screw holding the sensor in place. That is an 8mm or 5/16 screw. And those sensors are interchangeable.
The output sensor is the same part number as the input sensor. Mopar number 4799061AB. And I thought you were writing about replacing both.

If your talking about the on in the trans...
If you go to rock auto:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
Under the tab "Electrical", you will see about 3/4 the way down the drop menu "Speed Sensor" It is 10.41 plus shipping. That should be what your looking for I think...

Yes that was the part i was looking at.. but i didnt know it was the same exact part for both sensors! So i would just get under the truck.. find the transmission and the sensors are right the on the drivers side? Cool.. might do this one myself. If i find it.
