Ok so it started, seemed like it was going to die, so I revved it several times, but everytime I let go of the gas, it seemed like it was going to die... I have it in neutral and running right now, but it seemed like it wasn't getting fuel maybe? But not cranking earlier seemed electrical... damn. And right before the holidays!! Input still needed/appreciated!

It sounds like a bad battery or connections at the battery, more likely the connections.

yea sounds like a connection issue to me as well time to start tracing wires and checking for corrosion, definitelyl start at the battery.

Thanks again for the replies. Tried to post earlier but something went wrong. Just tried to start it up again and it was fine... as for checking connections, neg batt terminal and wire to the terminal does have some corrosion, but hasn't given me problems before. Perhaps I should replace, just gotta save my pennies again now! I really hope it has nothing to do with the fuel system as we had the pump replaced earlier this year already! It sucks because a lot of times I just don't have the $$$ to fill up or gas it up when it gets to 1/4 tank so it almost always rides to red or right above it.

...and of course, when I disconnected the battery, my CEL is off again... for now!

If it is just the terminals then for a few bucks you can fix them with just replacement terminals. I buy the brass ones and all you do is cut just the terminals off and about 1/2" inch wire from them. Then remove about 5/8" of the wire sheath and tighten them down. Then clean the battery posts with a battery post cleaner to new metal and install after wiping down. I always cover any exposed wire and crevasses with clear silicone to seal it up from any corrosion that will occur.

I like to put the terminal pads down, then install the terminals, then spray the terminals with battery terminal sealer. Right now I am trying the penny trick glues between my terminals for the past 1.5 years and so far it is working great without the terminal spray on sealant.

LOL......Naw it's legit,

You just glue a new penny between the terminals on the top of the battery. It is supposed to work like and anode and corrode it instead of the terminal, or it will create a type of barrier between the posts so they don't attach each other. You can just Google it.

The Copper Penny Trick

  • Battery acid does not like copper. An old trick used by car show enthusiasts is to super-glue a penny 1/8th of an inch away from each battery terminal. Do not allow the penny to touch the battery terminal, or else you can short out the battery. You will still have to clean the battery terminals eventually, but it will take much longer for battery corrosion to build up on the terminals.

Now I just put a single penny between them, and so far it has helped. Here is the terminal I put the new end on and the penny between the posts.
