I was thinking I would just take a FM and go with a 3" from the muffler back. But then I realized that it was a bit to much. So I am just hoping that a new muffler will safice.

I run a 40 and its not that loud. I run the stock pipe to include tail pipe. The muffler shop guy said if I want louder change rear tailpipe to larger size. On my 62 Chevy truck he put dual delta 40s more exhaust and shorter pipe. They soud same with the coated deltas not so loud at idle. Open it up and everyone takes a peek. Interior noise is equal to tire noise. I get compliments on it a lot.

I have a FM 50 single in dual out on my 2003 5.9. After a year and a half I wouldnt recommend it to anyone else. A lot of resonation at highway speed. Now it has pinhole leaks at all the baffle welds in the case that are now rusting through. My dad has a 3" single in /out Magnaflow on his 5.9 that sounds better and is quieter inside even with JBA shorties.

I have an '03 D with a 4.7 and I chose the FM Super 44, I really like the sound, its pretty quiet at idle, but roars when on the gas. I just did the muffler swap, everything else is stock. I do plan on redoing the tailpipe later on though. I also have a K&N drop in filter.
