Default New to DF :-)

Hey Guys,
Brand new to the forum and lurking around for info.
I am an avid DIY'r and hate shelling out money to the dealerships.

Anyway, found this site doing a little snooping around to find the cause of P1762/3 code that I just got.
Figured out it's the pressure solenoid and I'm going to look into getting the new ones from Autozone or somewhere else.
I have no fear about doing the job, I'm capable and have the tools. So I just have one question to skip a little bit of looking around and help save the weekend, BUT can you tell me which transmission the 2001, Durango 4x4 5.9 has and if the 3 solenoids are bought individually or as a kit somewhere.

I have my DD as a Mazda 626 and my weekend track car is a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD which I just finished rebuilding a new engine for and doing all the track prep myself.

I look forward to doing a little more work on this site and reading about other guys and the mods they do.

I already have found a link on the tear down and replacement of these valves, just would like a quick confrmation of the model of tranny and where to get the valves.

the 5.9 came with a 46re transmission, not sure if the solenoids are sold in a set or not, most buy them separately

I'll check out the autozone market for the valves.

Anyone care to give me their opinion on Ebay parts for the Dodge circuit. The other forum for my Talon, hate Ebay for performance parts, which to some degree I can understand, but for cheap OEM parts, I was wondering if these parts have the same rep' as knock off performance gear??

Again, thanks for the info and look forward to getting my hands dirty in DF.

i dont like ebay, but others have their own opinions i stay away for important parts like these

There is a dealer that has an eBay store that I have used several times. They have fair prices: Steve White Motors. They also have this site... www.stevewhiteparts.com
Another great site is www.rockauto.com.

I think the full Governor Assembly comes with 1-2 shift solenoid and 3-4 solenoid, but I can't remember. Remember to only use ATF+4 trans fluid and replace filter and adjust both bands.

Thanks for the input guys. Will get the tranny flushed and get some new solenoids and filter.
