Diesels do that because there is more fuel than air at that instant. It is also cause of how diesel run on compression. If yours is doing that I wouldn't worry, it may be burning a little oil. All vehicles will burn oil, just how much is the question. Until it gets to a qt every 1000miles don't worry about it. I had a friend in high school who's subaru went through a qt every 250miles, now that's a smoke screen. Then his tranny went out. LOL

LOL, that is a smoke screen and that is no fun! Not at 1 qt every 250 miles lol, more like half a quart every 1750 miles lol, and no smoke screen....YET lol, I feel sorry for your friend from high school, shoulda have learned to fix it though lol
