Not rolling on idle (v8 5.2 '99)
So I'm new here, I'm also new to dodge and durangos ,so bare with me
Lets just start this off by saying I'm no-where near the title "car expert" so If you say "check compression" or something like that I'll probably just say "huh?" So you may need to explain yourselves abit for me. anywho, So after getting rear-ended in my 94 s10 blazer I was stuck with 1007$ (car insurance) and a beat-up salvaged s10. Then hope came along and I saw a 99 durrango for sale for 600$! which doesn't seem to bad of a price, right? and everything worked on it (4x4,engine, etc.) except it wouldn't go into reverse. Well 650$ and anther trans later, it reverses now! but my question is, Why does the truck not want to move until I apply acceleration to it? like, if you put a car from "P" to "D" it kinda rolls for you without any acceleration from the gas peddle. It's not really a big deal, but its certainly an inconvenience. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I am not trying to offend you, but take a look at the parking brake and make sure it is off, I am sure you have checked that, but it is a possible cause.
btw, I have left my parking brake on numerous times when I tried to take off I was like WTH!!

Thanks all for the replys, It turns out the person who reinstalled the new trans must of oddly reconnected the transfer case shifter. So although it looked like it was in 2 wheel drive it wasn't, so that was causing the vehicle not to roll on its own. It also fixed a bigger major issue (I was just about to make a thread about it until I just found out :P) If I'd make a sharp turn the truck would actually hop cause all 4 tires was engaged... So for now it's all fixed thanks anyways!
