That sucks, when I put in my amp I found 5ft of wire tied up in the doors going from the crossover to the tweeter (already had aftermarket speakers).

I HOPE that was what the problem is, I am replacing the front speakers tomorrow, knew they were blown, but found out no sound due to them being reversed polarity...which was strange to me lol, Put a set of speakers from advance ($20 bucks for a pair with my 20% discount) now my sound isn't so flat, I actually can stand to listen to my rock! and feel it too, and not just my hurting eardrums either

I have polk ex series II speakers, they don't make them anymore but they are awesome. I put in a 10in polk dxi sub. All are run by a 5ch boss chaos extreme 1800 watt amp with a JVC KDS100 head unit. It, IMO, sounds better than the new alpine or infinity systems.

Well, maybe I will do that sooner or later. I never got into the audio of cars, I let others mess with that, but since I got this truck..I have HAD to learn lol, it gave me no choice!

I can't find the 6.5s without tweeters built in, can I install them in the front even though the tweeter and the mid are separated unlike the rear?

to get the speakers you need without the tweeter built in you need to look up component sets.. and also get 6 3/4 woofers as it is a direct screw in unlike the 6.5 because they are just barley too small to fit in the factory buckets without being in half assed. if you want to completley do away with the factory tweeters in yoru front doors you can un hook them and get some nice kenwood 6 3/4 3 way speakers for about 50 bucks.. here are what i have in mine.. they sound awesome compared to what i had in there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-KENWOOD-...item45ff61368b

Nope, didn't fix the problem. It was still cutting off SOMETIMES when I was stopping, but would still cut back on, tore apart the front doors this morning, those speakers are original factory speakers. Thinking Fuse? I can't find a short anywhere!

maybe you got a bad head unit and there is something in there shorting out intermittently. We're really getting to the bottom of the list here lol

Well, has been working great for the past 3-4 or how ever many days now, UNTIL tonight, it decided to start doing it again...Going to check the antenna wire (guess that is what that big black plug in together wire is) because it seems that the unit can't power on until that wire is connected, maybe there is a problem there...
