Default Some one with a 99 Please post a pic

Hey guys,
going to sound like a weird request, can someone please post a pic and measurement of length of their oil dipstick? I am trying to figure out if I have the correct dipstick in my truck...OR if I am really having a case of the disappearing oil.

nice pics man, one thing i think would be helpful is to see the measurements from the end for the add and full lines (for comparison purposes, i dont see why it should be any different if the length is the same but ya never know)

that_guy,
you are a hero right now. My dipstick was 32 inches, would explain why the oil levels were NEVER above the add line. Gracias my friend!

Seem's as though the PO lost the old dipstick and instead put in a shorter one! I just went and picked up a new Dipstick at the dealer, will check the oil in a bit, hopefully I can accurately check my oil level now!

Ugh, never ending....

I just checked the oil..MAJORLY high. Well above the Full mark, Put 5 quarts in last weekend when I did the plenum gasket because i changed the oil, and one quart yesterday, could it really have risen 4 inches above the full line for only 1 quart?

Does it make a difference that the 5.2L calls for a PH16 (Fram Filter number because that is what I use) yet that filter is too wide. When I took the old one off, it was a performance filter P0-19 Skinny and somewhat tall, NOT what any computer says it takes..

the filter you took off was probably wrong

you need to get some of that oil out VERY SOON, its just as bad to run with too much oil as it is to run with not enough.

how much of a difference is there bewteen the add and full marks on the dipstick? that is usually the difference that one quart would make.

Hmmm, you are probably right...the difference is only an inch, the wide oil filter will be wider than where the oil filter goes i believe (is the edges of the oil filter supposed to be touching the side of the block?) Never really looked before, just kind of screwed it on and hoped for the best lol; Will have to try to change the filter tomorrow after work..could be why it is showing too much oil
