Default Power Window Regulator Compatibility

Been looking, but can't find an answer.

Got a bad power window regulator cable on my '02 SLT. I have access to a '98. Before I go through the work of opening that up and pulling the cable from that one, anyone know if the two are compatible?

I think the parts should be the same as long as theyre both the same window i.e. front passanger or rear passenger. plus theyre both first gen and i dont know if theyre power or manual or if the first gens even had manual windows since ive only seen power windows. But you can wait for another person to confirm it.

I believe they are different between the 2002 and 1998, at least most stuff is. I would look for 2000-2003 Durango, and 2000-2003 Dakota.

Yeah seems like oreilys and rockauto have them listed as the same for both. Now ebay separates them 98-00 and 01-03...i remember i bought one off ebay and it came for instructions regarding both 98-00 and 01-03, if i remember correctly it was the bolts holding the regulator in that were either different lengths or in different positions.

Best bet would be to just look at a durango from the same year range like hydra suggested. Cant go wrong that way

Prices came down a little on the windows regulator/cable assembly. I just had to replace my regular on the drivers door (3rd one) and I bought it from rock auto or parts train online site for around $60.

I wished they would only sell the cable assembly without the motor. I now have 2 spare regulator motors in my parts bin in my garage now.

The parts are the same, however, as mentioned it blots a little different. I have a 2000 and removed one from a 2002. They are so close, you cannot see the difference, and as far as functionality, they are the same. It just uses a different bolt pattern than the previous version.
