My wiper arms were all getting rusty and peeling so I took them off, sanded, and repainted them flat black. I also did the same to the rear wiper arm and the roof racks, but forgot to take pictures of them.

I also bought some conductive epoxy and repaired the defroster on my back window.

Wow, great job on both counts. I will have to look into my wipers as that seems to be a fairly easy job that can make a difference. Also great work on the rear defrosters, I didn't know they could be repaired so easily.

So electrical testing lick the finger and touch method does not work?

 

just a tip, a battery terminal puller is very useful in getting the wiper arms off if, they're stuck on like mine were.

iv, I didn't test it that way, but I don't think that method would be very pleasant feeling (at least not with anything other than low power/current battery systems). The bottom 4 lines weren't working and were broken (each about 3-5") where I put the epoxy. Now they all work great.

Update on the defroster repair:

today while I was washing the windows in my truck 3 out of the 4 repairs fell off. I'm guessing that I got a bad batch of epoxy or something, so I'm talking to the seller about getting a replacement kit.

Nice job that_guy. Glad my entire back window defroster works, but I know some people that will get some use out of that. Now do you have a method for cleaning a lot of black mold out from your headlight lense or am I the only person with that problem lmao..........

 

I've never heard of that, but my guess is that you have a lens that has a leak in the seal to the housing.

I know some people doing mods to the headlights that put the housing in the oven (around 200 degrees F IIRC) to soften the glue and then pry the lens off with a putty knife. You could clean it all up then and then put it back in the oven at the same temp to soften everything again then put new sealant (not exactly sure on the type, but I'd think silicone would be fine). You'd then need to put a bunch of vise grips around the edges to hold it until the seal hardens.

Like I said, I'm sure I got some part of that procedure wrong so double check before you jump into something. There are numerous videos on youtube of people doing it. If your lenses are getting yellowed and discolored you'd just be better off replacing the headlight lenes (I mean the whole unit, not just the clear part. as far as I know you can't just buy the clear part).

 

Well sure you can. They have units on eBay that have clear style main light housings and you can just re attach the corner lights. OR you can but new clear corner lights to go with. You can also do what I did and just buy new clear one piece units that have better light transmission.
