Cool Chrome Lug Nuts?

Does anyone know if the 2003 Dodge Durango Sport has chrome covers over the lug nuts. I just got new Tires last week and noticed now that two of the chrome lug nuts where missing and in their place was standard open end lug nuts. Didnt know if they just came off or if my chrome lug nuts got replaced at the tire shop.

If they are stockers, then yes they are chrome covers over lugs.

yea the stockers are just covers, only way you have true chrome lug nuts is if the P.O. replaced them

missing covers is not a functional problem, just an aesthetic one.

Actually it can be a problem depending on the quality of your lug wrench.

In my case I began having trouble removing one of the ones that the chrome cover had come off of.
I ended up using a socket instead to bring the size down.

So when I went in to get 2 new tires installed I had them replace all of the lug nuts with actual solid acorns.

Much better now and even if the chrome begins to peel off I will not have to worry about being able to remove them again!

Just something to keep in mind.

also a note, using too short of a socket will aggratate the problem since the chrome piece extends up much farther than the actual nut itself
