Hi everybody my name is Eric and i live in sacramento i have a 98 Durango 4+4. ive done a few things to my truck like jba header and y pipe flowmaster muffler. bored out throttle body, intake manifold and hyperteck programed. The problem that i have is with the transmission its newer with about 20,000 miles on it right now i bought it brand new from new old stock, had a new torque converter installed and allso had a shift kit installed, the proplem that iam having is when iam at anywhere above 50 miles and hour and floor it will not kick down the rpms lower a couple hundred and then the rpms will raise to over 5,500 or higher if i do not let off the gas like it go's past the rev limiter its gone to over 6,000 before, it is not in gear there is no acceleration the engine just revs up, then sometimes it will kickdown the rpms raise up normally but around 4,000 rpm the rpm will go down a couple hundred then raise then lower again then go back up , everyday driving is fine no problems, iam stumped i dont have the money to get a new transmission, so iam hoping its something simple maybe the computer, or something needs to be adjusted, thank you all for your help sorry its a long post.

If you have the 42 / 44 or 46RE trans , have someone press the gas pedal to full throttle ( engine off) and make sure the fuel injection throttle arm is completely open, then check the throttle arm at transmission making sure it is bottomed out...If that checks out, your setting is MAX tv pressure, so I would believe also its a valve body problem.....Be sure to check fluid level in neutral...

Hey guys these are the pictures with the throttle wide open, showing the linkeges on the throttle bodie, and down at the transmission, i did notice when the throttle was closed, the cable going from the throttle bodie to the transmission their was a good quarter inch of free play.
