I've only owned this thing for a few months now and haven't changed anything other then the trans and added some engine oil and I have no idea what the previous owner changed (other then changing the engine and ball barrings)

25 bucks for a tps, I would change it, you never know, does it have the check engine light on? Even if you don't, take it up to advance and get them to put the code reader on it for free, might have a code not throwing the check engine light

Still with a used vehicle I would do a tune up and change fluids so I know whats been done.

yeah dont get fooled into buying some expensive performance spark plug or whatever. The regular champion copper ones are dirt cheap and work very well. im actually having almost the same issue as you right now except it's my MAP sensor. If I were you I wouldnt run a whole can of seafoam, id skip it altogether and just get STP Fuel Injector cleaner. I ran Seafoam in my gas tank and it knocked and pinged every time i hit the gas. I used a whole bottle though...So thats probably why

Im not sure if I belive that...Seafoam actually lowers the oct rating of the gas when you put it in. So it wouldn't cause that. STP is crap as well. I have seen seafoam work better in any and all situations then any other "cleaner" out there. Except for ATF fluid but that is a real old trick. STP is more of a lub then a cleaner. Seafoam is nothing but cleaning...I would say use a whole can because of the v8. Wait till the tank is as close to empty as possible, then add the seafoam and 15 gallons of gas and run that as dry as possible. Will do miracles for your lines and injectors! But this is just IMHO...take it or leave it...

If it lowers the Octane rating of the gas it could cause pinging and knocking. But I concur seafoam is about the only thing I found to work worth a crap.

I would definitly go with the seafoam over the stp that stuff has worked wonders for me I used to have a 92 seirra and every once in a while I would let her idle and while it idled I would pour it directly into the throttle body while working the gas usualy about half a can or until it died then let it sit 5 min and start it up it would blow a ton of white smoke for a little while then run great so I would not worry about it causing any damage to the vehicle. As for the sputtering I've experienced that on a couple vehicles and most of the time it turned out to be the fuel filter and if your vehicles over 100k miles it should be done anyway along with the pump just replacing those two can make a world of difference in power it will feel like the motor is brand new but I'm not saying to skip the tune up because u never know what was and wasint done by the last owner. As for the tps if its that cheap it wouldent hurt to replace and see if that helps

Okay so there's alot of mixed information in here. So I bought some STP fuel cleaner, should I use it or not? will it help? I assume seafoam would be the way to go?

~I'd like to have abit more solid information before I do anything

~The truck has over 199,980,000 and have no idea when the previous owner did, So a new fuel filter could be probable...

~but thanks for all the info, the info is just different from different people lol

Use both, cant hurt Seafoam is great and so is STP IMHO. I just wouldnt dump a WHOLE can in the gas tank, just a half would be fine, also make sure you have at least about a 1/2 tank when you do do it. Seafoam is great stuff but STP is cheaper and works well to. My truck had 200k miles when I added Seafoam to gas/vac line/ and oil, and didnt have any other problems except the knocking and pinging. My oil came out as black and thick tar (almost-you get the idea), so if you add it to the oil change it soon after (100miles MAX)....Good luck!
