definitely dont flush it, just causes more problems, beyond that is up to you, tranny fluid service interval is 100k miles according to my owners manual for a 4.7 w/ the (5)45 in it, check your manual to make sure your truck uses ATF+4, but as long as it does . . .

I also just took it out for a drive and it is in limp mode now. The onboard code reader shot me a P0700 - Or internal TCM problem. So I will swap it out with my old one and see how she does. I find it quite suspicious that this just happened after I replaced the input and output sensors. . . .

I just finished swapping the TCM's and to no avail. It is still in limp mode. Hasn't thrown a code yet but still shifts from 1st to what feels like 4th. I don't know wtf is broken but this is awful timing for my transmission to start to **** out. What is a symptom of a completely non functional transmission input or out put sensor? I have a feeling I got a bad sensor or something.

I would take them back and make them exchange the sensors.

Also take a look at the wire connectors for the sensors too. You could have a broken wire that you can't see.

I barely even moved the wires. I'll get under it tomorrow and look at it in the light.

Limp mode is 3rd gear only, so your not in limp mode. Could be a solenoid pack or Governor, but I am unsure on that trans.

Well It wasn't the 545RFE TCM at all. I needed to run to the store and didn't want to drive it the way it was so I changed the "new" sensors out with the old ones and it ran like a champ, so then I re-swapped out the factory TCM with the 545RFE TCM again and once again no problems. I will be going to Oreiley tomorrow and see if they can get me actual new parts. I will be letting them know that this could have created a very unfortunate problem for me and I will also be requesting that they test them this time too. . . .

I got the second set of new sensors just 1 hour ago. I installed them as soon as I got home and they work perfectly. Not to see if my RPM jump and slip problems go away. THAT, my friends, will take more than a couple days to determine. Also, on a side note: When changing the input and output speed sensors on the transmission, don't touch the exhaust. Unfortunately for me that damn exhaust pipe jumped out in front of my hand.

Did the slipping go away with the sensor replacement? I have a 01 Dur 4.7, 45RFE, (soon to be a 545RFE) have had transmission problems. I have replaced the valve body solenoids once, changed the filters twice and it slips between 2 and 3 gear. I get the code P0734. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing the slip? Thanks in advance...
