Straight pipe

The factory cats are very restrictive actualy sometimes even more than the muffler. There desinged to clean as much exhaust as they can but after a while carbon builds up and chokes up the engine. That was just an option for mtndewjew though to make his exhaust a little louder and if he already has the flowmaster than it would sound better with a high flow cat and be a little louder
Leave the stock CAT alone if you're not having problems. If you start to have problems then think about checking the CAT to make sure it's not clogged...
Dony, as for straight piping your Durango you asked us how it sounds, we answered it sounds like crap. Do a youtube search, or even better yet, here's a video showing how crappy it really does sound, granted it is a Ram but still a 4.7 engine:

Do us all a favor and at least get a cheap muffler from Autozone to weld in place for the mean time because you will really be disappointed in the sound. You can get a decent sounding Performance Muffler from Autozone for $35. Here ya go:

That doesn't sound at all like the 4.7's I was looking up on YouTube... I looked at ones on jeeps. I am still considering straight piping because it's cost effective I am also looking at glass packs cause their cheap also but I don't have an autozone in Canada and not to interested in a cheap no name muffler I've had issues with those :/

Or just cut the muffler out, and replace it with a muffler of your choice and clamp it all together, reusing old tailpipe. . .
Cat-Back systems are a good $300 and a thrush muffler is easily $50, with some clamps and some piping to possibly lengthen the pipe or to resize to 2.5 I/D to O/D and it might cost you $70.
