Default have to shift manually...bad??

I'm guessing my tranny is on its way out on 2000 Durango .i have 1756 1757 codes coming up..but the thing that sucks is money is too tight right now to address.. Truck does not shift into gears properly.but when I shift manually, I do get It into that drive gear...can someone tell me how much time i have until im left on the side of the road?? ,or if i just need a the sensor that changes the gear properly?? Or am i going to need a new tranny??..(i hope its not the latter )

Engine and Tranny would be helpful, I would also pm master_tech he is the tranny guru. It sounds electrical.

P1756 Gov Press Not Equal to Target @ not15-20 PSI
P1757 Gov Press above 3 PSI in gear with 0 MPH

Like adukart said, the engine you have bases how hard it is to replace that governor pressure solenoid/transducer. You have a 2000 so that means you either have the 5.9 (46re transmission) or the 4.7 (45rfe transmission).

Please let us know which engine you have before moving on...

Or they could have the rare 2wd with a 5.2L and 44re......

Until OP post again, we are just guessing on what transmission the member has. My guess would be the governor solenoid and transducer like whitewidow had said. But if you need the PDF file for those codes, I can send them by email. I would just need your email address and send it by a pm.

the truck has 5.9L ENGINE.someone told me to add that transmission honey, they said it would help the wear and tear as far as shifting manually.. but i think its beyond that.

Adding transmission honey was a very bad idea! Based on the MSDS of it Tranny Honey is a semi-synthetic base lubricating oils mixture, meaning it's a cocktail of fluids that will wreak havoc on your transmission. BAD!

I would purge all of the fluid out, pull the pan, replace the trans oil filter, replace the governor pressure solenoid and transducer, clean the pan off, and add ATF +4.

You may ask, but I just had the fluid in the pan replaced and the filter replaced, well that was before you made the mistake of puting some Tranny Honey in the transmission. Depending on how long ago you added it, you may have caught it before it did any real damage, but it is strongly advised you get it out ASAP, Chrysler transmission ONLY like ATF +4 and no foreign fluids.

Replace that governor pressure solenoid and transducer and it should get rid of your shifting problem...

Also, something like that stating you added Tranny Honey to the system is crucial information we need to know right off the bat in the OP. Just for future reference, hopefully you don't have any other transmission problem posts after we get this one resolved.
