Soo i was on my way to brampton, from barrie. about a hour drive on the high way. Right before i was about to get off the exit ramp i hear a loud thuding noise, so i hit the brakes right away pulled to the side of the road. and looked underneath to find this.. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...11404937_n.jpg

I have never seen this happen or even heard of this.. have you?

 

That is pretty strange. Is that the orignal trans? I noticed I have quite a few hairline cracks in mine but never paid much attention to it. Now I may have to after seeing this...

 

I honestly couldnt tell you, as far as i know it is the original.
ya definitely keep an eye on it, i doubt its a common thing though.

I hope its just the tranny bad, not the tranny and t case.

 

Any warning signs or did it just kind of happen?

 

My U joint felt like it was getting a little hairy, i also had just replaced the front axle that day..

 

Sorry to see that! I've only seen a transmission crack on one other truck before. My buddy had an 80s Chevy with a turbo 400 that split in half. But it was also on 44s and Buried up to the doors lol

 

Ya thats what i was saying, like i was on the highway.. i do offroad it quite abit.
Oh well, i guess i have a new project truck lol.

 

thats not the tranny. looks like you broke the transfer case or the adapter that goes between the tranny and transfer case. pull the t-case and find out. it will be easy to remove cause its well broken lol. not so easy to bolt new one back in
