Yes it will help if that is the problem. Friction modifier is a liquid you add to the gear oil for the differential. It is not a crazy additive... It's a required lubricant for LSDs (see service manual). The new stuff is synthetic so it lasts a really long time. However, in 2003 it was not so it actually breaks down over time. If that is the problem, it will eventually burn up your LSD. It's general maintenance. You should swap the fluid anyway if you don't know when it was done last.

Although I highly doubt that is your problem, I agree you should do that as regular maintenance. As long as everything is working ok and there are no leaks, I wouldn't worry about it, unless it really worries you. If it aint broken, dont fix it

Bad advice! A weird noise could be a symptom of something big on the horizon. Determine the problem before you decide whether or not to ignore it.

Well normally I wouldnt say that but mine has been making the same type of noise for years and Ive never had any issues with it. Thats why I said "unless it really worries you"

2003 does not have a rear washer fluid reservoir from 2001 on ward there is only one washer fluid reservoir in the front of the engine bay, i would second the cehcking the anti-freeze, and look for a drain plug on the rear a/c see if maybe it is storing the condesation instead of draining it it out correctly.

I didn't know it was a 2003 when posted, but u should always change any fluid at recommended intervals, along with what shrp said!

then you need to read the initial post more carefully, and check for the vehicle information listed in the top bar
