Default Brake pad recommendation

Tired of putting it off. 115,000 miles on the original front pads and I'm tired of turning rotors with just so so braking. Any recommendations on pads? obviously I would like a little better stopping and am thinking of going with an organic pad. I tow a 5,000 lb trailer in the summer so I don't need ones that glaze over easily. Just didn't find any recommendation for pads or calipers searching the posts but I seem to remember Hydro saying something about Auto Zone gold? Ring any bells?

I put on Raybestos pads and rotors from rockauto (heavy duty version) they are semi metallic but so far they work great. much better stopping and no noise. I also tow various trailers and they handle stopping with the trailers very well.

I just put some bendix semi metallics on. If they are good enough to stop semi's they are good enough for me.

I've got ceramic pads on my D, but I'm also not running stock rotors... If you want to trade out both rotors and pads, I'd say go ceramic (my D almost never has any dust on the wheels).

Even though they're more expensive... I love them. I've got about 40k on these and they're still great (my D is at 105k).

I've heard good things about the Duralast gold's though, and they sound more like what you're looking for.

I gave up on ceramics I was warping rotors like crazy and for the price I paid for the drilled and slotted rotors I'd rather have pad wear than rotor wear.

Mighty also makes a good Pad for Durango's, I can't remember the entire part number, but it is the XL pad. I got alot of life out of those. I had a much heavier FOrd F150 with those as well. After 6 months they had next to no wear.

Cool My brake story

I've had my 2003 Durango since May of 2006 and early last year, I finally heard some bad noises coming from my wheels. Sure enough, my brake pads were toast. They were likely the original set and never replaced.

Here's a funny picture:

As I recall, the pads were completely gone and was probably metal to metal for a long time. I think the picture says it all.

The rotors were screwed as well so I replaced all four. I went with Centric rotors and their Posi-Quiet semi-metallic pad. I've never had any noise or squeals from my new pads. Stopping power is very good.

Here's a pic of the new rotor installed:
