BTW, why in the hell would you put $15,000 into a 1999 Durango much less one with a 5.2L?
Not as bad as a friend of mine. He restored a 90 ford f-150 reg cab long box with the 5.0 a the 5spd manual, truck had 221k on it and it was a farm truck. Procharger on the original motor that had been fully rebuilt. Rebuilt tranny, painted it from the ground up. New interior, he put 17k into the P.O.S. Worst part is he had it down to the very rusty frame and didn't coat the frame or nothing. Nice looking resto on a bad frame. We were joking hes gonna twist it in half.

Looks like his drunk *** tried to make it to the island......LOL

Well that was a bad idea............Next time scout the water before you drive into it. I have to agree with Indy, turn it into the insurance as a total loss.

It's toast. Either keep it Nd make it cross that lake with a huge lift, restore it, turn it into insurance.

Actually I was sober and had a 12 pack going to the lake to drink it

Im not so sure about insurance because it was off a logging road out on Private property so i dont believe my insurance will cover it

Just something to play around with and probly do a 5.9 swap

Yea I am gonna say engine swap and a snork!
If this is more of a toy mabey pull the 5.2 and but a 4BT it if your just gonna play with it. Great base motor and it can be turned into a daily!
You should talk to your insurance, tell them you were out camping and trying to get back home and didn't know the stream had risin so high
IDK how much they are gonna give you though...if anything at all. Good luck though! And nice try on that crossing!

Well there's your problem right there! Beer was on the mind so you drove the truck into a lake, not a stream.......

Glad to see you got her going again, next time camp and drink the beer, put the keys somewhere you can't find drunk and have a great time.
