Overheating slightly at idle
#13
In the middle of summer when its really hot outside my durango would always run hot too during idle. This was last summer, it hasnt gotten hot here yet its still in the 60s. I will find out in a month or so if it still overheats.
The other day I spun my fan and it was fairly stiff, I spun it a couple of times to try to find out if it was spinning more than half a turn, i think it was, but then all of a sudden it started spinning with absoultely no resistance at all...I thought it might have been a bad idea to try to spin it, and came back a couple mins later and it was stiffer than ive ever felt it, it might have only moved a few inches. Hanst ran hot yet but then again its not hot outside either. Just weird.....

If it was cold and not loose then it will be tight. Take it for a ride and get it up to temp. Then get out and test it and see if it is looser.
No, your trans cooler is not hurting the cooling properties.
I would replace the T-stat, and the T-stat neck (available for cheap at the dealer) and replace you shroud. If your still having issues I would temp the radiator for cold spots. If ok then most likely replace the fan clutch.

Well, ill be reinstalling shroud this weekend, if that isnt it. Then ill replace the t-stat an neck and if that doesnt work ill replace the fan clutch. Ill just have to make a spanner wrench at work first. Luckily for me where I work, we have a contract with Dodge and get discounted rates on mopar parts.
Depends on what you mean by coolant flush. I put a new radiator and water pump in it about 3 months ago. However a complete engine coolant flush has not been done. Dont think i need to go that far.
