I might be way wrong here too - I bought my D (2003) used, and there's not even a LED on the dash for security anywhere I know of.

On the same note, I never did get a key FOB, if it can even use one - I was (someday) doing to go to the dealer and ask about getting a key FOB - I only have a single lock on the outside, on the drivers door, so I suspect it should have a FOB.

Where would the Light be on the dash typically? It's possible I just never noticed. I also have a black key - it has the Chrysler emblem on it, so I suspect it's a stock key and not just a copy.

If a key was made from the dealer then it will have the Chrysler emblem on it when they make a copy,,, I do have all power locks for all the doors an the hatch also,, Over here at the dealer they wanted 145 bucks for just 1 fob,, I haven't got one yet,,

yeah - same reason here. It's nice, but I always have some *little thing* I need to deal with that is better use of the $150.00 or so.. I still need to get a new blower motor, resistor, and harness before it's A/C time.

Oh and I need to get the A/C charged...
And been wanting to just go ahead and replace that TPS and O2 sensors...

Sometimes, I like to just 'refresh' the small electronics to head off any problems, plus I end up with a 'somewhat good used' one that I can rely on, in a pinch. Get that from years of being broke... packrat, lol

Oh yeah and I really need to get the drivetrain fluids done too, lol... sheesh.

security was NOT a standard feature on these trucks, i would actually venture a guess that most do NOT have it, no LED no security, also most trucks that got security also got immobilizer keys iirc, (gray chip keys) if you have a chip key you have security for sure.

Ok,,, Well I just ran a PSI test on my 5.2 (318),,, Now it only has 116070 miles on itan about 50 miles of that was from pulling around,,, The PSI is showing me with my ol gage that all 8 cyl are hitting 150 PSI,,,,,, So would this mean that I have a crack block or would it be a head gaset that I need to replace,,,, This D has been setting for 4 to 6 years an at lease 5 years with no water in it,,, When I 1st got it I did check the oil an it was black so I did change it about 3 days after I got it home,, There was no water in the oil when I first got it,,,, But since I change the oil an about a month later an the D would only start an die an I did it a few times,,, I sure hope it would be the head gasets an would like to hear what ya'll think,,, An the D didn't have any water at all cause it didn't even have a ratorater in it,,,

150 is not bad at all. I think new was like 160-165ish. How about a cracked intake manifold or bad intake gaskets? Have you checked that yet? Just spitballing since your compression isn't bad and I would suck to take your heads off for nothing.

It doesn't sound like the block is cracked. If it had no water it could be a bad head or intake or the gaskets. Since it been sitting I would probably guess gaskets and would just do them all anyway.
