Default Update: Good news on the Jetanator

so most of you probably remember that i was in a accident with my durango about a year ago and she has been setting by my house till i can fix her. well the good news is that i should have it fixed up here pretty soon if all goes as planned. insurance finally gave me a settlement on my medical which gave me enough to put away and a little bit to fix all the mechanical and frame dammage to the vehicle. im starting to call people tomorrow and see who charges what for fixing the frame and who has what parts. most of the parts im gonna get from the salvage yard.

part of my question now is this. as far as my understanding goes the frame needs to get straightened out before i can start removing parts and putting good parts back on the vehicle correct? to make sure that everything lines up right?

U can remove parts, but not put them back on until the frame is straightened

You'd probably have to talk to the shop. I'm sure if u removed parts then it would make their life easier

Yep, they like it when you take off all the busted stuff. Glad to hear the D is going to be back in service

Mine's still awaiting body work too. It needs $1,300 in work, and the insurance gave us $300 ($1,000 deductible) And they claim to be going after the other guy's insurance for the rest. What an annoyance! Soon as I get my $1,500 in tax money back its going to the shop.

I can love for now with the little bit of body damage it has. I picked up my parts from the wrecking yard yesterday. Got my upper and lower control arms. Power steering pump including a fluid cooler. Steering gear box. A knuckle/hub assembly and as an added bonus I found a gas tank skid plate! :-D mine doesn't have one so now it does :-)
