Default My New 2002 Durango SLT 5.9L!

Ok guys so today i closed the deal on my Durango, I'm going to pick it up on Tuesday. Its in awesome shape, theres a little bit of rust to the left of the rear right taillight that you can see in the pic there. Its got the 5.9L engine with the tow package and transmission cooler. This thing is loaded with the Infinity sound system, Black leather heated seats. Its got brand new tires, also has rear suspension air bags, you can see the little nozzle for it to put the air in them (I'm not sure what its called, I'm just calling it a nozzle). Its also got some pretty questionable fake hood scoops, I might take them off. When i test drove it today i was so impressed by it, its got roughly 94000 miles on it and its pulls nicely and drives awesome. Though i might need to get some new fog lamps as these ones are very clouded. The front windows are tinted as well. This truck is pretty much perfect, ill get more pics when i get it into my possession. Right now the guys holding it for me until tuesday. So tell me what you guys think. I picked this up for $6,750

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if that first picture is the engine bay of the truck you are buying you do NOT have a 5.9, that is a 4.7l engine pictured.

other than that and the tacky hood skoops it looks like a good truck

Yup that's definitely a 4.7. Functional hood scoops would look better

How can you be sure which engine it is? I've looked online and the alternator is on the left side but this one is on the right side... I hope it's not a 4.7

Update: guys I checked the vin, for the engine size part it has 58 my guess is that it's a 5.89L or something and they round up to 5.9, but it definatly is a 5.9

I looked and they also have the square ones, I didn't check it, the first numbers in the vin are 58, which are the numbers for the 5.9l, if it was 47 then it's the 4.7l

I my self believe that you have a 4.7l engine.
I guess its possible the owner blew the engine and put a 4.7 in it. But that does not look like a 5.9.

Very nice looking D. I think a good body person could make those hood scoops look nice I was thinking about a pair. It does appear you have a 4.7L. Do you have coil over plugs or a distributor?
