Renewing my rusted tow hitch receiver
So my receiver is quite rusted and doesn't look all that great, so I was thinking of taking It off, sanding it down, priming it, then reprinting it black, then some nice shiny clear coat and getting new bolts for it. What do you guys think of this idea? It's probably more cosmetic then anything, but seems like a fun easy project.
Could I go somewhere and get it sandblasted? This was kinda a cheap project and I don't really want to pay all that much

Go to anyplace that does powdercoating and they would have the equipment. I was thinking of doing the same thing with my brush guard. Get it blasted, patch up some rust, and powdercoat it black. Just to sandblast would probably cost $50. They will get everything down to bare metal in probably under an hour. Good luck doing that with elbow grease.

I've seen damn near brand new hitches on Ebay for like $50 and shipping, in fact bought one at one time. Think it was like $65 all together shipped. What I did was just cleaned mine up a bit and sprayed it, but it depends on what you want exactly. I didn't even pull mine off.
