ok I did the 87 octane tune and my truck is definitely more powerful... The problem is my e-fan is always working now. I assumed that's because the tune is adjusted for 180 tstat. I installed it and it's still working all the time. Sean says it's set for 191 degrees but my e-fan is working regardless of that... Weird. Do I need to reset the pcm? Cuz I didn't do anything after changing the tstat.

edit: it turns out to be a mistype of temperature value in tune file... (I think it was set at 180) he set it to 192 degree and everything is ok now.

Sean says there is even more noticable power in 93 tune setting but the problem is I don't wanna pay extra 50c per galon for a few more ponies

actually I haven't even tried it yet cuz I was afraid but Sean sent me a new tuner file, gonna try it tomorrow. I didn't wanna be left without a vehicle in the weekend...
The Hughes SCT tuner is pretty easy to setup. no way to brick my PCM but don't wanna try to either. It always check for stock setting and will backup the stock settings first before applying the modified tune.

I just finished blowing a full tank in racing mode (93 octane). It was fun. I barely have to touch the pedal to move the truck, but when I go full throttle, at times, I thought I was pulling the front end off the ground briefly. The F1 airgap really shines out on any rpm range.

Now that I have refilled my tank, I reprogrammed it to street tune which is basically economy mode at 87 Octane. Suppose to give me max mpg and light towing. But still I am very impressed for the most part, the power is still there.

I can really feel the power difference on the 87/93 octane settings when I was using the hypertech with oem beer keg intake. The sad thing with the hypertech, I did not get any mpg improvement in either mode. Just power improvement on 93 octane.

I hope the SCT tuner that is custom programmed from hughes to take advantage of the F1 Airgap intake will yield some mpg improvements. The programming from Hughes also turned on my electric fan much earlier to keep the engine cool I guess which is good. It will cause my clutch fan to disengage much faster as well so that in itself should help in mpg's.

So far, I have noticed about 1-2 mpg improvement over stock when in racing 93 octane mode. But I am sure the mpg improvement mostly came from the F1 airgap manifold installation.

I'll hope for the best improvement in street economy mode to get even more improvement in MPG.

One thing I noticed with the F1 Airgap intake, the exhaust note sounds much different compared to the oem beer keg intake.

Ok so I just got done tuning on my truck with seans tunes. 87 was ok the biggest things were a little low end torque increase and the 3-2gear kick down when in O/D off, it went from 55mph to 60mph just like when in O/D. Still shifted into O/D at 35mph when at low throttle. Now the 91 is awesome. It has alot of low end torque. It is raining here and to launch it I had to put it in AWD and it squeeled the front tires STILL!!!!!!!!!!!! Also it won't go into O/D until 42mph and he moved the WOT shift points up to 5000rpm instead of 4700 and the 3-2 kickdown is still 60mph in or out of O/D. I haven't done the 93 setting cause no one for 400miles sells any so if I do it and love it I would be buying octane boost every tank. If you haven't guessed yet I'm very happy right now. I work with a guy who drives a 08 grand cherokee srt8, I feel a pull off coming, on dirt of course I gotta have some advantage

The SRT8 will never be able to out pull you due to the tires are made only for solid payment!

are you saying that there is really a noticable performance improvement in higher octanes? cuz buying $20 worth of gas and the feeling when you see your gas tank gage going up 1/4 is priceless it will be more lower than that if I buy higher octane and I don't want that unless it's absolutely better.

Yes, I can definitely feel the power improvement when I had my hypertech programm between the 87/93 octane settings.

Now I am using the SCT tuner from Hughes and pretty much the same thing. When in 93 octane mode, I just barely touch the pedal and the truck wants to launch.
