You guys are lucky. Around here blue book says the same as you guy but actually they go from $1500-$5500. Mine has plummeted in value over the last 2yrs and I don't know why. You talk to any person around here and they love there's Now if I was going to rebuild a 5.9 I would have the heads ported and bore it over .030" and stroke it to a 408ci. Thats just me though.

I think you got the valve covers mixed up, there on the wrong side and flipped.

I thought the Ram 5.9L engine has the starter on the passenger side not the drivers side like on the Durango? Is that motor like that?

Mechaniczman<------ Those engines are backwards from each other, look at the fly wheel. The lower is to the left while the upper is to the right. How can you tell they could be installed incorrectly? Also on the 1997-1999 5.9L engine the PVC is on the passenger side and breather on the drivers side, this was switched out on the 2000+ models so that the PVC is now on the drivers and breather on the passenger side.

All in all it really doesn't matter, as long as the hoses hook up and the oil filler is in the front and easy to get to.

ok well now the durango runs but not perfectly. first was a timing off. got that sorted out but now it is acting like it has a vacuum leak and running rich as hell. i have sprayed carb cleaner all around the lower intake and the tb vacuum lines ect and makes no difference. still have to either bring the rpms up to keep it running or feather the gas peddle. think its possible the belly pan gasket didnt get sealed? i replaced them all and that was my first time on a dodge motor so its a good possibility. sound like something that would be a belly pan or what else can i check before i pull the intake off?

Did you transfer the tb over from the other motor? I'm curious if the iac, map and tps are all in good condition.

The pictures I posted are with the valve covers in the right place, I posted two so you can see both sides of the engine. The pictures he has of the engine in the truck there on the wrong side, might be why you think it has a vacume leak. I dont think you have the hoses hooked up right.

i put the duranos tb and intake onto the ram motor and transfered all sensors since they have different plug in's as well as the coil.
