No Bus strikes again!! lol
What if it was just a dry rotted wire? I had an 88 bronco II, with the 2.9. Went out to drive it to work, it would crank, crank..never fire. Turns out a power wire that goes to the fuel injectors was dry rotted, and basically fell apart in their hands. They replaced $392 dollars worth of stuff before finding a 10 cent piece of wire that fixed the problem. So, no, it may not be that simple...

I'm thinking about just kicking her out and making her walk! Lol
Having had that " No Bus" problem more than once in the past I can tell you that the PCM has an internal issue, now, get a good one from a dealer or Napa, don't buy anything from ACE, (auto computer exchange). I recently had the issue, the typical problem after an " No Bus" condition is no fuel signal to the fuel pump. Listen closely when you turn the key to ignition, with everything powered up, and right before a " No bus" odometer, the fuel pump sound is missing. Common problem in PCM's and there are a couple of capacitors that go bad. Like I said, get one from Napa, or Advance, or anyone that deals with Cardone, which is the largest rebuilder source for all the above mentioned auto parts dealers aftermarket. Otherwise, get ready to pay around $800-$900 from a dealer. I paid around $400 w/exchange from Napa, and it was a Cardone rebuild. I got 6 PCM's from ACE before I learned my lesson!
