TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help guys!!! For a while my turn signals would turn on then after a few flashes go out while sitting at a stop light. Then they would only work every now and then. Now they have quit all together. I have tried to replace the combo turn switch on the steering column. That did nothing (now I have one for sale $50 plus shipping). I checked all the fuses and replaced the one or two that was bad, but that still did not fix my problem. I got underneath trace all the wires from front to back to the box under the hood, all ground wires look good. Stuck my head up under the dash check all the connections they look good. Thought about the flasher but all the other lights work fine my hazards work. When I pulled the flasher out(green box) my hazards go out. So if the flasher works the hazards then it should work the turn signals? The flasher wouldn't be half good would it?? My Durango is a 1999, 4x4. Thanks Matt Please Help

RE: TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have took it to a repair shop and they told me to try the flasher. So I took it to the Dodge dealership, and he said there was only one flasher listed. So I went and pulled mine out and it killed the flasher. So I told him that was not it, because why would part of a flasher work and not the other part, and plus woudn't a flasher just die and not keep coming back again and again and then die????

As the flasher heats up it may cause the circuit inside to
open. Then it may or may not contact again . Tap on it while
you have the turn signal on and see if it act up.

RE: TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a similar problem in my 99 Durango. The problem stemmed from a short in the hitch wiring. Sometimes, if the wiring or connectors get corroded, they can cause shorts in the signal/hazard lights. I just pulled the taillights off and disconnected the hitch wiring (since I don't use the hitch anyway) and it solved my problem. Hope this helps.
