I have a 99 durango with a 5.2 and the 42 RE and the transmssion slips when i get on the gas pretty good and it will rev up till i let off the gas. It also when it warms up will stall out when i put it in reverse and i have to rev it up and throw it into reverse to go. I have no clue what it is so im looking for suggstions.

When were the bands last adjusted?

Your low idle stumble is likely a bad/failing/low battery.

Check the forum using the SEARCH functions for some additional guidance in those areas/

The slipping could be the front band adjustment or a broken band. The stalling in reverse is not good. That could be the torque converter locking up and cause the engine to stall at idle.

TJ3NN3R,

While you are at it, RUSH and buy this TransGo kit for your setup. Do it all at once.

(just realized OPs post is his #1. If history stands true, there is only a 50% chance he ever even comes back to see our help or post again.)
