Question gearshift problems 46RE

Hi over there!
I need some help from the "motherland"! The stealership in this country is just a bit too much...
My Durango 2000 R/T 5.9 4x4 is strange to change gear up. If I put in the Drive from Parking it changes gears all the way up, but if I stop or slow down and accelerate again it won´t shift gears.... Then I have to stop at the roadside, put in the Parking and back to Drive again. Then it goes once again, in 80 % of the cases. Occationally it also goes into some neutral when it should change to third gear...
I have searched for a valid thread but I cant really find one. Maybe because of lack of US language
I am thinkig about to change the sensors and Governor Pressure Transducer and Pressure Solenoid + transmission output sensor.
Do you think I´m on the right track?

I can also say that the engine failure light is on. I was at the nearest stealership and the vtold me it should cost me 550 in dollars. When I came in with the car they had suddenly changed. Now it should take 5 hours of work and cost me 1250 in dollars. I just drove away from there with a black cloud over my head.
Then I tried to unplug the output speed sensor to see what happened but then the car was just dead when I turned the starter key. Just like no power in the battery. So I put it back again...

Please do not make multiple threads on the same issue. not only does it clog up the space but, it gets very confusing to members trying to help you.. for best results to an answer to you problem kindly use the search feature of the forum to check out other members with this issue, if none are found then create ONE thread to get help on your issue...

Welcome to DF

Hello from the USA
If you know what the codes that you durango is giving you. And if you could post them that would help. If i were to guess, the transmission is in limp in. Causing the transmission not to shift. I would replace the governor solenoid and transducer and replace the filter. With the pan off, i would adjust the bands too. Here the techs are giving 1.0 hours to do a trans service and that is also adjusting the bands, and aother 1.0 hour to replace the solenoid and sensor. Thats in a dealership. I don't know what the aftermark shops are getting.

Thanks for your answer, mastertech!
Unfortunately the Dodge dealer didn´t give me the codes...
I use to make my mecanics myself! But I bought the Durango 3 month ago, and I wasn´t too good at automatic transmissions. Thats why I contacted the "stealership". But now I have studied the thing here at DF, so I will do the things you suggest, by myself.
Can I also ask you for a good company to buy the things from, by internet. It use to be cheaper, in fact, to buy them from US despite of the high shipping cost!!!!

the transmission has a safety mode built in that when something fails it goes into this mode. this mode is known as 'limp mode' i believe this is what he is referring to, it is supposed to be a fail safe to limit any damage you can do the the transmission
