Default 1999 5.2liter v8 Dodge Durango turns over but no start

My wife and I bought a 1999 durango about a month ago. It passed Maryland State Inspection just fine but all of a sudden is having the same "turnover but no start" problem. It's not electrical, i know that. It sounds like the engine isn't getting the fuel it needs to start. It doesn't kick over until i pump the gas pedal old school like. I can hear the fuel pump in the tank start up when i turn the key to on so i know that's working. my brother mentioned the "lift pump" but i can't find that part anywhere online. he said there is a hose that comes from the fuel pump in the tank to the lift pump, then from the lift to the engine. Can anyone help?

Martin:

Life pumps are on vehicles with diesel engines. The Durangos do not have them.
How many miles on your D? When is the last time it was tuned up.

You may have a bad ignition coil.

More information please? Don

as stated there is no lift pump on these trucks, almost sounds to me like you need to look at cleaning the throttle body, and IAC valve/motor and possibly replacing the IAC valve/motor

Cover the basic's before replacing parts. Do you have fuel pressure, spark at the plugs and did you check for store codes. You could have a fuel pump or crank or cam signal sensors. Also check the compression too.
