Infinity speaker woes. . .

Do you know what the output power of the HU is? Google told me 120 Watts but that seems high for a factory unit.

i think i have heard 85-100, as long as you meet the systems output the speakers can be rated for more and you will have no problems, it is when eyou put speakers with a lower rating than the headunit that you have a problem
also there is no need to be double posting just a couple of hours apart, most of us work and/or are busy during the day so wont answer until after we get home from work, just be patient (btw this is the 2nd time you have done this in this thread alone, 3 strikes and i start deleting double posts since they are against the rules)

Hey MoparMan. I have been working on car stereos for 18yrs and a factory head unit from Chrysler only puts out 13-15 watts per channel with a Max output of 30 watts. So if you put in any aftermarket speaker they will be under powered thats why your best bet is to replace the HU with a good HU most of them put out 45-60Watts per channel. and when I say per channel that means each speaker has 45-60Watts going to it.
Now as far as replacing your foam speakers DONT fix them it doesnt HELP. and MB Quartz are a good speaker but not for an Infinity sound system.
When you replace a component speaker system you must replace the whole system that includes the tweeter or you run the risk of it not sounding good.
check this link out these are great component speakers I have used these in most of my customers cars and they sound good even if you decide not to replace your Stock HU. if you want more info send me a message
