Default Blew upper radiator /cooling system

I blew my upper radiator hose. I have replaced it. I bought 2 gallons of Xerex anti-freeze, poured in 1 1/2 gallons and a bottle of Lucas cooling. I started the truck up and waited for water level to drop, never has...truck is at 210 or so, and I see very little if any water flow...Any thoughts?

About a year ago I replaced the thermostat and water pump, and at that time also had very little water flow. I thought it was the system, but I know it should hold more than 6 quarts of water/anti-freeze............Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am already bald, but I am seriously about to pull out the stubble

BTW, I have been running the truck with the heater on..I have tried burping it, but I get very little out of it, if any..

Thanks,
Mike

hows the fan clutch? did you burp it on some kind of an incline? where did you get the tstat? what about a blown head gasket?

I think the fan clutch is good. I burped it on level ground, I bought the tstat at NAPA, and as for the blown head gasket, I think the truck runs way to good for that. I hope and pray its not a blown head gasket...how much water flow should I see? I really doesn't move much at all. If I rev it up to about 2500 and then let it idle, I see movement, but other than that, it looks like a pond

just find a nice hilly street with a curb and point your trucks nose up hill , let her get warmed up and gravity will send the air to the top.

is it possible then that its just air in the system? That I am vapor locked/air bubble thats keeping me from putting more than 6 or 7 quarts into the system? If I am correct, its a 17 quart system? How high of an incline do I need, just a set of standard ramps?

Does it make any sense that 1 1/2 gallons of antifreeze is filling my cooling system? after blowing the upper hose?

I guess that depends on how much you lost. You could try the ramps, I just find it easier on a steep hill. But then again Im a little vertically challenged.
