Default Goodbye Durango :(

I traded in the ol' Durango

It was just needing more work than I had time for, sadly. I traded it in for a new Dodge Dart! From one extreme to another! I just couldn't pass up the fuel savings and it has a nice look, In my opinion. So far, it's been a fantastic car to drive.

Thing is - I've been driving a lot more lately and the gas was just killing me. Plus... it still looked good and had a solid trade-in value, so I went with it.

Cool thing is... Dodge offered a *lifetime* warranty on the Dart - so heck yeah, I took it!

Once I get this house sold - in a couple years, I have every plan of buying a used 1st Gen Durango again as a project truck. It's one thing working on a project / second car, it's another when your daily driver's getting to feel it's age some.

Still hate to see mine go, but with 1700+ in repairs needed; if I did all but the lower balljoints myself - it was just time. I cleaned it up real sharp - hoping it will get a buyer that plans on taking good care of it, it was a great truck.

I want to thank you all for any help you have been over the few years of me owning this D, and I'll still be lurking around if I can find a board for the Darts - that and poke my head in and just lurk around!

There might be a Dart section on this site too (or will be soon).

Definitely look like nice little cars. It reminds me of the Neon I had before my truck, it was a good car. Trying to talk my mom into getting one, she might get a Fiat though.

I bought my Durango new in 1997 and I LOVE it. It's never let me down, never been stuck despite my hardest attempts, and it's carted around every member of my family, all of my friends, and every relationship. It's literally part of me, and I know how I would feel if I had to let it go.

On the plus side, you got yourself a great new car. I'm a huge fan of the new Dart. It's too small for my personal tastes but I love the new fresh thinking that went into it's design. Home run in my book.

It's small - but it doesn't feel 'cramped' - even some midsize cars I've rented for work feel 'cramped' to be honest. I'm not terribly fat, but I'm no skinny guy either! lol

I'll be getting another D, the first gen is certainly my favorite Durango and they are getting 'cheaper' so to speak - I just need an efficient daily driver.

And yep, there's a Dart forum - already pestering people there.

The new darts are sweet. Me and another kid that works with me at the dealer ship test drove one and it is a nice car.

It has very attractive body lines. I think a set of after market wheels with nice wide performance tires would look very good under those fenders.

1.4 L Turbo - 6 Speed Manual

Certainly does not have the low end torque/power a V8 does, but that being said - it will get up and go after the turbo spins up around 2200 RPM. If I had a better on gas daily driver, I wouldn't have sold my poor ol' D.
