I've Ben pondering this for some time, I know I need a new exhaust and I can get one cheap but its in the junkyard sitting under a Durango that has no wheels and sits directly on the ground. How would you suggest I safely lift it enough to remove the exhaust without being crushed? And would it even be useable while on the subject would the exhaust from an R/T fit a 5.2?

If it has a hitch. Id start jacking it up there as high as i could to make room Under the sides. Then jam some random rubble under it and move to the side to get it higher

Why would you waste your time with a junkyard exhaust system??


Yes i understand it is a cheaper option but, it will end up costing you more in the long run. You would be much better off putting up the money for a new system and doing right the first time.

 

some people have more time than money and others have more money than time.

 

That's a long sad *** story no one wants to hear I just can't afford one.

honestly the junkyard system is probably damaged from both the weight of the D sitting on it, and the rust from being in contact w/ the ground for a while

Yes i know that people fall on hard times and sometimes the money just isn't there.... trust be i been there.... My point is or was that buying a junkyard exhaust system that has been used and is on a vehicle that is laying on the ground is a bad idea. as sharps pointed out...

For the money you spend on getting the system from the yard and the money you would spend to fix it you would be better off either fixing up what you have or replacing with new even if it is pieced together with cheap universal parts. Then you can save up and get what you like when you have the money together

 

Hard times don't begin to describ it my wife has both kidney failure and cancer.
