Sounds like you need a lift to get out the water. I been through water with mine... 3-4 foot higher than stock rolling 35s. The motor sucks water before fan. My bumper is as high as stock headlights. Cardomain under lvphotos for pictures.

I've seen your truck. I am lifted as well but just love deep water.

Check out the Durango with Cummins conversion on YouTube. My fan works well even wet. The controller has gone out twice. If you put it up high and water proof it should be fine. Run a manual switch to turn off in water. Seems to be weather proof. A little extra sealing with silicone might work also.

The dakota digital controller I'm using gets mounted inside the cab. I actually like it inside the cab rather than the engine compartment because it will tell you the exact temp of your coolant if you want and you don't have to worry about waterproofing it. I also like that it's digital so you can set it to the exact temp you want rather than an adjustment screw.

Anyone got their ears on. Attempting to remove the clutch fan and the it is proving to be a challenge. I was hoping to not have to remove the belt. I can't get the nut to break and can't come up with a suitable way to keep the water pump pully from turning. Auto Zone had a 5 Piece Clutch Fan Removal tool that I picked up and claims will work on a Dodge 5.9, but I can't see how any of the pieces in the tool will work. Any tips would be great. Meanwhile, I'll continue to troll the archives.

sounds like you may be in the same boat I was in. My waterpump pulley has no holes in it to put any tools through. To get mine off I used an old belt as a strap wrench to hold the waterpump pulley still while I had a friend break the nut loose. Not sure why you wanted to leave the belt on. All you have to do is get a 15mm wrench on the tensioner nut and pull it towards the drivers side to get the belt off.

I wanted to leave the belt on because I wasn't sure just where to loosen it at. Can you give me general idea where the tensioner nut is?

Also, I'm 2003, so I have the holes in the pulley, but so far haven't figured out a good method to employ them so any ideas would be great.

I'm a loser.... So now with the belt off, a strap wrench looks like it might be the call.
