Default New water pump, thermostat etc, leak in manifold?

So I just replaced my heater core, water pump due to leak, new thermostat and thermo housing, and I'm seeing a leak.I take off the thermostat housing and there is coolant coming out of the rear most bolt hole from the housing? I've never experienced this before and assume that's where it was leaking. What would cause this? Do I need a new intake manifold? Thanks in advance, really need this thing fixed for getting to work.

Haven't done a water pump on a durango yet but have done a few others. Some of the long bolts need a sealer on the threads. I personally have been using #2 Permatex with a 100% success rate. The key to installing any water pump/thermostat is to begin with a near perfectly clean surface. I sure someone on this site knows which bolt threads to coat. Good Luck.

Yea thats what I was afraid of,I took the thermostat and housing back off, someone ran a bolt that was too long through and popped the bottom of the bolt hole out.i just cleaned it all up,ran Teflon tape and sealer around the bolt.Guess I'll see of it works once it dries :/.
Might be needing a new intake manifold if it doesn't hold up.

Rtv and let it dry mines been like that for 4 years. It would be insane to replace an intake manifold for that. if theres still threads it can be sealed. It most likely wasnt a longer bolt both the 5.2 and 5.9s has this issue. You need to clean out the holes real good before you put the bolt back in. if theres coolant or any grit in there when you put in the bolt the pressure from tightening down the bolt with crack off the piece of the manifold. Its fine. If you want to buy another manifold dont bother buyying a brand new one. just go to a junk yard. An intake manifold isnt something that wears out.

I wish my wifes durango had a 5.2 or 5.9 she got stuck with the cheap 4.7 things mostly plastic. But both my jeeps have 5.2s and 5.9s. Nice engines. easy to rebuild.

Yea,I definitely tried, sunday i cleaned it up,re-sealed it all and it sat almost 20 hours before i added coolant, seemed well, but on my way to work this morning it starting spewing out again. Dont know what else i can do besides swapping in a junkyard manifold,i cant have this be an issue when i need it to get to work.

Well I pulled it all apart yesterday, cleaned up my junkyard manifold and installed it.
Wasnt too bad of a process besides the bolt that snapped off the old manifold/head.
Seems to be running good now, havent noticed any leaks, sounds healthy, keeping my fingers crossed.
