Default Check engine light with no codes

Well i had a few codes last week that i worked on and cleared. Now the check engine light as come on, but shows no codes on scanner? This is no cheap scanner, its the autozone one that cost around $100.

Any thoughts please feel free to share.

Edits: I unhooked batt and check engine is gone.

i was haveing tranny problems and took it to the garage to be fixed. Done. as i was driving home the check engine light came on. Back to the garage. as i pulled in the engine just shut off. they put the scanner on it and it said cannot communicate with the computer. we turned the key off then back on the check engine was off and no code was found. now everything on my dash will shut down. no tach, no speedometer, the oil pressure, the temp guage and the gas guage then the engine stalls and wont start. wait 10 mins then its back to normal. so I wish you luck. hope something posted here will both of us out

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Is there any way of telling for sure if the PCM is bad before I go and buy another one

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but $100 scanner is a pretty cheap model, and by removing the battery you performed the reset procedure on the PCM which clears all codes even the soft codes that not all readers can pick up

also idk why someone else hijacked your topic, im sorry that it happened.

Thanks for the reply's. $100($168 to be exact) is not cheap, but to each his own.

As for this durango i traded it off, so its some one else's headache.

P.S; I was not upset about the random post in this topic, so no apologize needed.
