Default Another P0441 code question

I had AZ check my engine light code and it came up with the infamous P0441. Is this a matter of replacing the "canister purge valve solenoid" or is

there something else I should check? I also don't know where it is. Is it on the passenger fender closer to the firewall? Thanks

it could be, but it could also be a leak in one of the evap hoses, mine actually throws one of the p044x codes every fall and spring and it later goes away on its own

shrpshtr

Do you think it could be the extra humidity or a temp thing? Does the light go off in the winter or do you have to reset it?

humidity no, mine is definitely somthing to do with ambient temperature swings because it happens in october and april every year, iv been chasing it for a while and replaced almost every hose in the evap system, as well as the gas cap, iv been slowly narrowing it down and am now to the point where i need to find a smoke test machine in order to narrow it down and figure out where it is coming from.

my light goes off on its own after a couple of weeks (once the temperature is done fluctuating btwn 45-50 and 65 degrees

Thanks Shrp,

The D runs fine it just bugs me seeing the engine light. I'll start eliminating some hoses and probably replace the purge valve.

it bugs me too, but as long as its a p044x code and goes away there isnt much morei can do for it, as long as it stays off when im due for inspection its all good

I too have been chasing this damned code and replaced almost every hose in the evap system (except the hard plastic hoses that run down the firewall). I just replaced the LDP and now my computer shows a pending P0441 which tells me the check engine light is about to pop again. Meanwhile I can't et the truck inspected. Next I guess is the gas cap, which I'm told must be OEM to be reliable. Then the purge solenoid behind the battery and last a smoke test if it's not fixed. I'm fed up with this code!

Ugghh! I guess I'm in for a little bit of a project then. Where do you get a smoke test?

I always go through all the hoses, then the cap, and then the LDP. I replaced the hose under my battery as well as the plastic lines by the firewall. That includes the hoses in the engine and under the truck. Then i replaced the gas cap and ended up with a p0440 for the longest until i finally replaced the LDP. My light would turn off during the colder months , on and off in the spring, and always on in the summer.
