Welcome to DF
I'll move your post to the 1st Gen Durango section. You'll get more response from there.

Are you putting copper plugs in it? And do you have an aftermarket ignition or stock? By eating then do you mean its burning the electrode off or are they just fouling?

its going through a set of plugs a month and everytime it comes up as a cyl 7 misfire i replace that plug it still runs like ****...i replace the other 7 plugs and it runs great for a month then does it again. Could this b from the evap system being messed up? I've heard these trucks are notorious for the evap system problems

no this does NOT sound like an evap issue, it sounds like a plug issue to me however without knowing which engine you have we are shooting in the dark and could send you off in a VERY wrong direction

What else have you done to try and fix this problem?

I have the 5.2 in my 99 so I know it different but I just replaced all of the wires, rotor and distributor caps.
Mine showed a miss-fire on #5.
Didn't visually see anything real obvious but I did fix the problem.

My truck also has 197,000 miles on it so a little TLC is needed from time to time.
Runs much better now!

now to ask the stupid question which plugs are you using? and how much oil does the truck use between changes? for reference my 4.7 uses about 1/4 qt every 5k miles, i have 110k on it

This engine is the distrubutorless engine, i haven't replaced the coils and wires cause thier expensive as hell but about a month ago the fuel pump ****ted out on me and its been almost a month now since that was replaced and its running ok but the evap system code is still there, as far as plugs I've been using the champion copper plus everytime and milleage on mine is about 151, 000
