Default 2000 Durango ambient air temperature Sensor

New to dodgeforum.com and just had a couple quick questions. Does every first generation Durango have and ambient air temperature Sensor? Mine doesn't have the overhead temp display or the temperature sensor, also would this affect the electric cooling fan or even engine performance? Any input is appreciated. 2000 Durango 4.7 SLT
