Default 5.9L 99 Durango 'quits' for just a second while driving...

Its been a while since I've been to the forums... but my Durango is starting to act up again. I guess it's the engine.. can't really tell.

Random speeds, usually highway speeds (45-60) it feels like the engine just quits for a second... a hard bump... then all is fine. No codes on engine or transmission, can't even see a drop in RPM's it happens so fast. It might not do it for a week, then it might do it three times in one day...
I was sitting in a drive through this morning and it kind of acted like it wanted to lunge forward for a brief second... not sure if that's related or not.
Also, my cruise isn't working... again, not sure if thats related or not.. the light won't even come on, sometimes it will flash on then go right back off.

Any help is appreciated where to start looking.

Im having similar probs with my 1998 dodge durango 5.9l 4x4. i have changed plugs wires caps rotor censors! i just took it down to the Chrysler dealership and they couldnt find anything wrong. they drove it for about 40 miles and didnt find anything. thats what i hate most about it. its unpredictable. Ive been recording the effects with my phone the last couple of episodes. everything looks just fine. its when you press the gas when it has probs. now that i read your story about the cruise controll made me think that mine did stop working properly for a bit here and there. i bet we have the same prop. i hope somone can help us out.

I've noticed that if before I start driving, I can press the CC and the light will come on for as long as I have the brake pedal pressed, but as soon as I let off of it, it will go off. Also, if I had not done the brake thing before starting to drive, I can tap the CC button twice, and the light will come on for about 3 seconds, then go off... then nothing if I tap the button.
Also, still have found nothing on the sudden 'quits' either. They are not becoming any more or less frequent, but still very annoying and afraid to take this on long trips (aka.. back to my hometown to visit family)

I had this issue, turned out to be a bad spark plug with a weak coil, I replaced the coil and it got worse had to do the plugs to. Do a full tune up, coil, cap/rotor, plug wires. If you let it go it gets worse and worse. It eventually will start doing it shortly after the motor gets warm. But yeah I had the same issue, only occurred from 40-58mph when slowly accelerating.

YES! OK guys my truck finally threw me a code P0121 my Throttle position sensor. I have changed this before but i figured what do i have to loose. I bought this one from autozone instead of Crystler. Guess what its running just fine. I still have to give it the mean test drive but its idling nice and smooth cruise control working great. i hope this helps some of you guys

oh yeah and just to let you know when you change the sensor you should disconnect your battery for 10-15 min so you pcm can learn your new sensor.
