Default Blower motor resistor?

Well after looking at other threads about this...seems like people have problems with the high setting not working at all...mine just goes in and out...the other speeds work all the time but sometimes the high setting works, and sometimes it doesn't. Should I still just go ahead and replace the resistor?

the resistor being bad usually causes you to have ONLY high, an intermittent problem is usually a connection somewhere, in this case id guess a ground

Thanks Sharps....that's why I wanted to ask seeing as how high for me works sometimes but the rest of the speeds work fine....kinda opposite from other people's problems....well any idea of where I should begin to look? Under the hood...anywhere in the cabin?

cant point you in the right direction w/o the year of your truck, you could dl the fsm youself and simply lloook up the grounds asssiciated with the blower and where they are located.

I just changed mine 15 minutes ago. It was working fine, but there was a huge diference between the last two positions of the fan speed. And then, it stopped working.

So, in your case, i will buy another resistor. Easy to change and cheap. Need the right tools though.

Ok thanks...you say it stopped working...just the high speed stopped working? Or other speeds as well?

It stopped working at all. I had no front blower. And now that i changed it, i dont know why, the air is much colder than before. I suppose that the resistor was working in very high temps and was warming the air.
Do it, your case is no doubt a resistor failure!!! And if not, its only 10 bucks!

A cricket with a 10mm tool. Sorry i dont know how to say. It has 2 screws, one of them is very hard to reach. You will need something to work offset, is it clear? hehe.
