Unhappy

All I can find by the battery is the purge valve solenoid and I just put new one in Friday. No cracks around green screw cap either. But I do smell fuel under hood when starting. Should I start looking at fuel lines?

The cylinder shaped black plastic piece is the purge valve solenoid and I have changed it already. I will look for the PCV valve, is there a way to check it or just have to replace.
I haven't had this truck a year and it has been nothing but problems from the start. It is the proverbial "money pit"!!

The PCV Valve is about $7 at Dodge. I'd just replace it.

Ok ,found the filter.
Should I have some sort of vacuum going on at cannister? I disconnected hoses to and from cannisterwhile truck was running and absolutely nothing happened, no suction or blowing going on of any kind. Clogged cannister?

The cannister under the truck where the horseshoe shaped hoses are? That just holds some charcoal type stuff, I think. I believe it should all be free-flowing, so you should be good there. The PCV Valve has ball in it and should click freely when shaken. That is on the oil fill tube, under the hood.

Question why only 1 code

Why am I getting just the P0440 code with no accompanying codes. I have checked all lines/hoses, replaced gas cap, purge valve solenoid.
