Default Rebuild / Head Gasket Fitment - 318

1998 Durango slt V8 5.2 / 318. 4 speed automatic w/od /4X4

My question is. Where the orange tags are look at pic. The gasket does not have ports for the cooling channel. I have looked at other gaskets and they are all the same. This is a Fel-Pro Sealed power Pro Engine set. Iam wanting to know does this affect the cooling or can i open the ports up on the gasket or is there a reason for this. Can anyone help me out.

Iam wanting the best cooling i can get and this looks like its going to prevent cooling or cause hot spots

Did you match the head gasket with the old gasket? And is the head gasket stamped left or right side?

Yes, there are correct for there location and no i all ready trashed the olds ones. but i did check alot of diffrent makers and there all the same punch out. I wondering if i open the ports back up would this help the engine cool better of will it cause over heating

I know you may have done this already, But i thought i would ask anyway. Did you check out factory head gaskets? Because if they are the same as what you have. Then i wouldn't punch out any holes.
