Cant start
cold morning its like 31'f out here i got to pick up kids from school 20 mins ago and i cant get my durango to start the batt is good starter is turning and turning sounds like normal sept the engine is not turning over my cold air intake is dirty so i took it off hoping that'd help but 15 mins later of trying to start it im stuck it just wont start at all :/ what should/can i do to get it started i dont have many tools i cant pull the plugs n see if there even any good and even with google i have yet to find any mechanic shops other then walmart for 50 miles -,-
Well, if the starters turning you need fuel and spark. Since you don't have any tools you can test fuel by listening for the fuel pump to run for a second or so when you turn the key to on (easiest to here with the door open and your head stuck out the door.) and to check spark take a plug wire off and stick something metal in it, then hold it (by the rubber, not the metal) near, but not touching, the block and see if you have spark.
I'm assuming you have the 5.9 which has plug wires since your name is durango rt, but it would help to know about the year and engine of the truck.

yeah i open the driver door when i turn the key alot of noise from everything else on the dash like door ajar and the cd player going and buzzing from the things but there is a slight buzz sounds like from a pump or somthing from under the durango so i assume that is the fuel pump running i dont know of anyway to check for spark without tools to remove a plug or having a plug to put one of the wires onto i tried starting it several more times its not even getting one lick just the starter running n running it has flowmasters on it id hear at lest somthing pretty easy if it'd at lest lit up somthing only break iv gotten so far is a neigbor picked up the kids for me. but i still have the rest of the school week n other things to do and no vehicle with verry limited money cant afford a tow i can walk to get some tools to check the plugs tomorrow n maybe pick up some plugs
damn i dont know what either of them are so i cant replace fix or check them dark here now ill try restarting it tomorrow if its not anygood then i guess its scrap i cant afford to tow or have a expecive mechanic look at it and i cant affodr nother vehicle but i can buy a bike thx for the help guys
Again, it would help to know the year and engine of your truck.
On my 99 the ignition coil is on the front of the engine on the passenger side. you can follow the center wire from the distributor to it. The crankshaft position sensor is on the back passenger side of the engine (there's a notch in the bell housing of the transmission for it). It can be reached the easiest from the passenger side wheel well. Again, this is assuming you have a 5.9.
A new coil is $30 and a new crankshaft position sensor is $50. Both can be changed easily with basic tools.

well i dont have a jack i can afford one and a few handheld tools nearest place to find them i couldent find much any help on google to changing them on a 5.9L but i figured the 4.7L engine was close to the same somthing to go on at lest. tomorrow ill keep kids home n walk to nearest autozone n get what i might need any detail ya could give on what i might need and how to do it would be great
The 4.7 is actually an entirely different engine. I don't think that any of it's parts will work with the 5.2 or 5.9.
You won't need a jack for either of these jobs. Before you start replacing things it wouldn't hurt to check if you're getting spark or not. Also try swapping the ASD relay in the box under the hood with another one such as the horn that you know is working in case it's just a relay that's gone bad.
Here's a link to where you can view the factory service manual. It should have all the bolt sizes and everything as well as diagrams that should be of help.
